Sven Väth

Sven Väth (Obertshausen, 26 ottobre 1964) è un disc jockey e produttore discografico tedesco.
È uno dei grandi pionieri della musica techno in Germania, definito anche il re della stessa musica techno tedesca.

Considerato uno dei punti di riferimento, oltre che uno dei padri putativi, della prima scena trance embrionale di francoforte dei primi anni '90, continua da anni a comparire nelle classifiche della stampa specializzata tra i migliori dj tedeschi e resta, dopo una carriera di oltre un quarto di secolo, uno dei maggiori nomi dell'elettronica mondiale. Tra i suoi primi alias, "R U Ready" e "Sam Vision"; spesso nell'ambiente musicale cui appartiene viene soprannominato "Papa (papà)". Ha fondato le etichette musicali trance "Harthouse" e "Eye Q" (ora non più attiva) ed è stato parte dei gruppi 16 Bit, Astral Pilot, Barbarella, The Essence of Nature, Metal Master, Metal Masters, Mosaic, e Off. È proprietario della azienda Cocoon Event Media GmbH, che possiede l'etichetta discografica Cocoon Recordings, nonché del Cocoon Club a Francoforte.

• 1986 - 1989 Insieme a Michael Münzing e Luca Anzilotti (che poi diventeranno gli Snap!) fonda la band eurodance OFF (Organisation For Fun).
• 1986 - Primi singoli degli OFF: Bad news ed Electrica Salsa che raggiunge le vette delle classifiche europee. Partecipa inoltre al progetto 16 Bit con il singolo Where are you.
• 1987 - Album con gli OFF: Organisation for Fun e i singoli Step by Step, Bad News, Everybody shake e Harry... aber jetzt.
• 1988 - Secondo album degli OFF: Ask yourself e i singoli Move your Body, Time Operator und Ask yourself.
• 1989 - Due singoli con gli OFF: Hip Hop Reggae e La casa latina. Gli OFF si sciolgono e Sven Väth fonda insieme a Matthias Hoffman (A.C. Boutsen) e Steffen Britzke (Stevie B-Zet) il progetto Mosaic. Sven Väth sceglie lo pseudonimo Sam Vision.
• 1990 - Insieme al cantante Zion (alias Germ), il trio di Mosaic pubblica il singolo Dance Now (con il nome Zyon).
• 1991 - Väth collabora al singolo Odysee of Noises: "Circe / It′s the traxx", fonda l'etichetta Eye q di cui questa traccia ne è una delle prime uscite.
• 1992 - Sven Väth lascia lo pseudonimo Sam Vision. Viene fondata l'etichetta Harthouse. Collabora al singolo Spectrum, pubblicato con il nome Metal Master. Insieme a Ralf Hildenbeutel escono inoltre, sotto lo pseudonimo di "Barbarella", l'album The Art of Dance e due singoli abbinati: My Name is Barbarella e The secret Chamber of Dreams.
• 1993 - Sven Väth - Accident in Paradise. Singoli: Ritual of Life,L′esperanza ed An Accident in Paradise.
• 1993 - Gudde Laune e.p.
• 1994 - Sven Väth - The Harlequin, the Robot and the Ballet Dancer. Singolo: Harlequin - the Beauty and the Beast. Con il progetto The Essence of Nature è pubblicato un singolo.
• 1995 - Singolo abbinato: Ballet-Fusion. Remix-Album Touch Themes of Harlequin, Robot, Ballet Dancer. Väth partecipa al progetto Astral Pilot. Escono un album (Electro Accupuncture) e un singolo(Needle Drama).
• 1996 - Der kalte Finger (Soundtrack-album con Stevie B-Zet). Secondo singolo con Astral Pilot: Electro Acupuncture RMX.
• 1997 - Sven Väth Fusion / Scorpio′s Movement.
• 1998 - Album Fusion e singoli Face it, Omen A.M., Schubdüse, Sounds control your Mind, Breakthrough, Augenblick, Discophon.
• 1999 - Remix-Album Six in the Mix.
